Things which still amazes me in Norway:
- Some doors in public buildings can't be opened the normal way, like pushing or pulling the door open. You have to find the BUTTON for opening the door. You press the button, and voila, the door opens automatically. Practical? Yes. BUT (!) sometimes, the buttons aren't placed on the most logical places. So what happened was: I try to open a door. Push... nooo, the door won't open. Pull.... no, still no movement in the door. Repeat pushing the door and pulling door. Still no effect. Then you start looking for the BUTTON... which takes some time -_-'
- If you are standing in front of a zebra crossing, to cross the road... cars WILL stop and let you cross first. Try this in Amsterdam, and you will get hit by the car. Cars in Amsterdam won't stop for you at the zebra crossing to let you cross. I repeat: Cars in Amsterdam WON'T stop for you.
Things I have to remember when I'm in Norway:
- When greeting someone or saying goodbye after a visit.... Norwegians don't kiss! You thank them and say goodbye and if you know the person well, you hug. You HUG! Noooo kissing! Seriously, no kissing. Kissing is something we do in Holland. When you greet someone: three kisses on the cheeks. When you say goodbye: one kiss on the cheek. In Norway, they hug. Must, at all times, try to remember that.
- When going to the Vinmonopolet... as a tourist or someone with no Norwegian bank account, you can only pay with cash. Paying with Maestro? Forget about it. Only cash... *show me the money! Or no liquor you*
- Forget about fresh vegetables that is worth the money. Either the veggies are half dead and expensive or the veggies are fresh but INSANELY expensive. Actually, in general, food shopping is just expensive in Norway

Things I still like about Norway:
- Less stressful way of life
- People take time for doing their work and other stuff
- Nature
- Lots of nice cafés with nice coffee

Weather, packing & holiday

Evil weather has taken over Nothern and West Europe. Heavy rain fall, maybe some snow, but most of all, it's extremely windy. I wonder if I'll survive walking outside, without being blown away.
I've started packing this morning, because I'll be traveling to Norway again, this Sunday. The packing is almost done, except for a few things, such as tooth brush, shampoo, 2 woolen cardigans, a pair of shoes and an extra jacket. Hmm, that's actually still a lot of stuff :S
Anyway, my suitcase is heavy. It's 15 KG! I really hope it stays under 20 KG. I prefer the heavy stuff to stay in the suitcase, such as the paperwork i need to bring ( around 2,5 KG), my hikingboots (1,5 kg), bottle of Jenever (HEAVY stuff, both literally and not so literally
), and bottle of wine. I think these items are arond 7 kg in total
At least on the way back, i dont have those 2 heavy bottles of alcohol anymore
The only thing left is to hope for good weather on Sunday, so there will be no delays with the train and my flight.

And the story continues...
After I had reinstalled everything after a false alarm of AVG, I couldn't view Asian characters in my webbrowser anymore. Very annoying. I was missing the PMingLiu and MS Gothic font. Once, a long time ago, the PMingLiu font was free on the Microsoft website. Now, as with most thing, you have to pay for it. Luckily, a friend of mine could send me the files. So, now I'm able to view Asian characters correctly again

I did NOT had a trojan horse, and it was certainly NOT my fault that I thought I got a trojan horse. And I didn't had to delete my hard disk and loose a whole day reinstalling everything... It was the freaking stupid fault of that*peep* *peep* *peep* AVG anti virus updates!!!!!
I'm switching to another virus scanner. Not liking AVG at all now.
